Chapter 8
-
“So where are we going?” Bea asked while looking up at
Harry.
-
“There is this great place nearby I would like to show
you” They got eye contact. Bea looked quickly away.
They rounded the corner and saw a café in the center
of the street. It was with a beautiful entrance and doorman at the door.
-
“Maybe it is a little bit too fancy, but they know me
here” Harry smiled and led her inside when the doorman held the door. She
stopped and looked around. A gasp came through her lips that made him laugh
quietly.
-
“As usual?” The waiter asked
Harry nodded
and laid his hand on Bea’s lower back.
-
“This way” The waiter began to walk toward the corner,
and Harry led Bea after him.
The waiter led
them to the corner farthest from the door. It was a small bay.
Bea moved into
one side and Harry to the other.
-
“So, how long have you known Louis?” Harry asked while
giving Bea a menu card.
-
“Well, since forever. My mom and his mom meet each other
when they both were pregnant” Bea said. She opened the menu card and then
continued “But then we had to move”.
They got eye contact and Bea began to blush. The
waiter came to their table and Bea quickly looked away although Harry didn’t.
-
“Something to
drink?” The waiter asked
-
“Ehm, just water for me please” She murmured
-
“After that plain ride I think you need something
stronger” Harry laughed
-
“Well yeah, maybe you right” she giggled “Can I get a
vodka and cranberry juice and a water, please” She smiled to the waiter
-
“And I would like a medium beer” Harry said.
The evening
went on and they talked as if they had known each other always. And as the time
flew by, so did the drinks. The people in the restaurant were leaving one by
one and Harry and Bea were among the last in the restaurant.
Bea giggled
while she stirred her drink. She raised her head and looked around in the
restaurant.
-
“What time is it?” She asked
Harry looked
at his watch and opened his eyes wide.
-
“Wow it’s almost ten o’clock” He said and looked once
again on his watch to be sure. “Maybe we should get going”
Bea finished
her drink and stood up. Harry was waiting for her, so when he saw she was ready
to go he walked towards the door. The doorman opened the door and Harry walked
out with Bea right behind him.
But when they
came out it wasn’t as they expected. They walked out in a large group of
screaming girls and camera flashes. Bea looked up confused and held her hand in
front of her face so she wouldn’t get dazzled. A hand grabbed hers and dragged
her out of the crowd. She looked up and saw Harry with a big smile on his face.
-
“RUN!” he shouted.
Bea began to
run, still holding his hand. She looked back to see if the girls ran after
them, luckily they didn’t. They rounded the corner and began to slow down. They
looked at each other out of breath and began to laugh.
-
“Is it always like this for you guys?” she asked still
laughing.
-
“Yeah, but usually we tend to stop and talk to them”
he laughed.
She looked down at their hands. And he followed
her gaze. She let go of his hand and led a hand through her hair. She looked at
him in silence and saw him wrinkle his eyebrows in annoyance.
